| ARF's Beginnings |
| Long before a formal name and non-profit status was ever dreamed of, Barry and Carla Haynes began coordinating, gathering and distributing donated animal food and supplies to local animal rescue organizations in Central Pennsylvania. That was over 15 years ago. Because word spread quickly about these dedicated folks who gave of their time and effort to help ensure rescues had adequate food for their animals, the operation continued to grow rapidly over the years. Today, ARF provides much-needed food and supplies to bona-fide animal rescue organizations across the United States. Due to this rapid expansion of service area, ARF was officially born and incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit in early 2007. |
| How ARF Operates |
As a non-profit organization, ARF operates solely through the volunteer efforts and donations from concerned individuals and groups like you. The Haynes remain the founding principals of ARF, and Board members consist of Denise Durkay, Board Member-at-Large, and Dawn Hatterer, Secretary and Treasurer of ARF. Dozens of volunteers round out the success of ARF, as these individuals and organizations provide many hours of their time in helping to pick up, deliver and organize the hundreds of thousands of pounds of animal food donated to ARF. There are so many organizations that provide donated food and supplies to ARF that to name them all would take a millenia. Thanks to all!!! |
